What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Simplegrowth is a two-person marketing agency based in Edinburgh, Scotland, operated by Simplegrowth UK Ltd, registered in Scotland with company number SC899833. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, which means we decide what is collected and why.
For anything to do with your data, email us at [email protected], or write to us at our registered office: 109/14 Swanston Road, Edinburgh, EH10 7DS, United Kingdom.
Our contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address, business name and your message. Our request a call form asks for the same, plus your phone number and the time you would like us to call.
When you book a call, we put it in our Google Calendar with your name, phone number, email address, business name and message, and Google emails you an invitation to it.
We use this only to reply to you and to talk about working together. We do not add you to a marketing list from a form submission, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for their own marketing.
If you email us directly we hold that correspondence, along with your email address and anything you choose to tell us in it.
If you accept analytics cookies, we collect statistics about how the site is used — which pages are visited, roughly where in the world visitors are, and what kind of device they are on.
This data is pseudonymous rather than anonymous. It is tied to a random identifier stored in your browser, not to your name, so we cannot tell who you are from it and we do not try to. It still counts as personal data under UK data protection law, which is exactly why we ask your permission before collecting any of it.
Our host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as part of delivering the site securely. The typefaces the site uses are served from our own domain, so loading a page makes no request to any other company.
The site sets no cookies at all until you accept them. There are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies beginning _ga, which distinguish one visitor from another and expire after up to two years. Your accept or decline choice is remembered in a cookie of our own called sg_consent, set by this site and no one else, so we do not ask again on every page. It expires after six months, when we will ask again.
You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Declining after having accepted also deletes the analytics cookies already set. Our cookie policy lists every cookie by name.
Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis for using your data. Ours are:
We keep the list of third parties deliberately short. Each one only processes data on our instructions:
Some of those providers are based in the United States, so some data is transferred outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Enquiries are stored in western Europe and copied to HubSpot's EU-hosted infrastructure. If you would like a copy of the safeguards covering a particular transfer, email us and we will send it to you.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not profile you. Nothing on this site scores, ranks or sorts people automatically.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. There is no charge for making a request.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
